Here We Are

Appears that I never got around to actually publishing this post. Life went on and here we are, already seven months later. Cyprus views Well, we went to Cyprus! Last April, with Alex and Rachael and Danieal. The goal was to go somewhere close (4 hours direct on Qatar Airways) and somewhere inexpensive, and somewhere the five of us had never been. That was tricky...it is amazing how much of the world we've covered between the five of us, even just in the 3-4 years we've been working in Qatar. Vacation time is definitely a perk of this job! Game nights (photo: Alex)  Overall, it was a relaxing trip. We stayed in two beautiful Airbnb's. They were both quite fancy, which was fun. We saw a good portion of the island, even going to Northern Cyprus, which many consider a separate country. They speak Turkish, have a border crossing, and use Turkish lira. It was informative for me, considering I knew nothing about Turkish control of Northern Cyprus. Traveling keeps us hum...

"We're pregnant!" After visiting family and friends in the Northeast, and splitting up for a week while Jake spent some time in Arkansas, we reunited in The Lone Star State. My flight was a bit delayed so the arrival was drug out until nearly 2AM for Maggie, Reza, and Jeanne. Jeanne, Jake, and Chase, picked me up at the airport and we headed straight for Maggie and Reza's. Jake and Chase had been working on a plan all week, for sharing our news. So upon arrival, Jake asked Jeanne to come inside "to take a picture of us all together so we can send it to Emily!" Despite her reservations and the time, Jeanne came inside so we could quickly snap a photo. I was so nervous I assumed everyone could tell I was pregnant just from looking at me. Chase held up his iphone and said, "Okay....1, 2, 3..." and Jake and I immediately chimed in, "We're pregnant!" Either the time of day or our delivery caused a delayed reaction and everyone but Reza...
